I'm making a RP map

It is true, im working on making a RP map of my own so we can cool off of Diaster a bit lol. Its currently only in the brainstorming stages, so nothing has happened yet too much on development, which is great for you folks of WoRP! Please send me any ideas and concerns/questions/etc that you may have! You may find your ideas based within my map!

Can we get some information on what time period its based in? As well as how myth and magic are in the game? Also if possible a location would be perfect. (E.G Camelot, hyrule, my bedroom *wink, wink*)

My vote goes for outer space. If you want to get a specific location then ill make one up.

"A strange wash of colors take hold of your vision as the *space craft name* drops out of (ftl/hyperspace/light-speed/warp) and throughout the whole ship the (ftl/hyperspace/light-speed) drive powering down could be heard. You slowed to not moving at all, well at least through space. A small thrust forward occurred as the (sub-light/impulse) engines took over to push the ship to explore new areas. The mission was to explore (*system name*/code(i.e S3X-292(specific planets may have a decimal or a whole different style of code) or other)) in search of (new life/military base/colony/minerals&resources/oxygen(space balls ftw)). The *ship name* is the third to attempt this feat, as the other two had strangely disappeared. (Add something about the crew making two or so teams against each other as they grew closer or something? Up to you, that's just my idea if you go with space-age or later)

Also, If you do. I vote the ship name to be... metal- Just kidding. The Dragoon III

Thats something ive been thinking about. i enjoy both the older dark times and the future. Its difficult for me to make a quick decision, which is why i made this post in all honesty. I want to know what the clan members want to see in this map. I mean we are a clan of roleplayers, and a good diversity is a must for us

This is a difficult decision indeed. For the past we can play fantasy life and for the future we play CC.. Although CC only goes to a certain length. If you do past then I vote for a different sort of magic. (Like bending the elements, or magic that is based of GW2.) Although as for my idea on a short lore for the game, I hold no ideas at this moment. If you need help with it feel free to ask, ill try to think of something tonight if I can.

My votes/opinions for both have been cast as well as things I would like to see.

Id pearsonaly Cast my vote on a map just a few years past FL with new teran,magic,weapons,and qusts.

Ideas:



Swords for the ppl who wants alot of power in exchange for mobility

Spears For ppl who wants quick fighting (just like in fl lol)

Knife loong/short Can be used for both Tanks and theifs alike depending on your build


Rifle Lot of power but you need bullets and reload time (to balance it out)

Bows (simple really)

Hand gun (Need bullets fast reload)


Classes-


Monk (ACTUAL HEALER THIS TIME)

Martial artist (who can specialise in 1 of for say 4 deferent fighting styles such as Kenpo,Karate,Jujitsu,K

Mage (Healing and Black magic)

Black wizzard ( pure power)

Ranger (You start with bow and can later specialise in Guns etc)

Dragoon (Yes i still want them<:3)

Thief

Ninja (actual class)

Worker (for thoose wanna rp slaves,maids etc o.o)

Now in terms of the map id lik to have like two cities 1 ruiled by the king other by bandits (whom you can join)

I also wish for more deferent character models now i know this isnt as easy as one might think but ima still wish for it

A mix of FL and DBZT 5,2 now in dbzt you always have max 100 mana and you have to stop and charge in once in a while...The less mana the slower you get i think that could be a good addition to it all

I believe we should do something along the lines of a more apocolyptic time, with kinda the same ideas of Super-Nova...

Well, despite what anyone says, there is going to be NO mature content in my map, such as a brothel or maid, etc. There will be plenty of choosable male and female classes/roles, but nothing sexual based. I will not be supporting these overly hormoned kids and their weird internet fantasies. My map is based on roleplay and entertainment purposes, not mature content

When did I do one of those around you? Also, no matter what you do they will always find a place tree, forest, ally, ect. So in other words, you don't have to add the brothel, but can you add in a slave camp? Slaves can carry items and are great for nobles in their non sexual RP's... Plus, I like being a noble, so some actual units as slaves instead of them being invisible incriminatory objects that almost everyone forgets exists, kind of gets annoying.

Also slaves are a given with Eroku's apocalyptic idea, Also I change my votes, I like apocalyptic the most. Gun prices soar, brings together weapons new and old. Again, slaves are a given, or just servants that can carry 2 items each, or something. Would look really cool inside the castle.

Also one more thing, can we have it in England/Scotland or Europe? Because they have a lot of surviving castles there and war bunkers as well as fortified manor houses, that would make sense, seeing as Canada and America only have cold war bunkers.

Also can we have, for lack of a better word dual equip? Like not a spear and a sword in both hands but one primary and one secondary, (primary being pistol, shoot until he comes in range of your sword then swap) so the second weapon doesn't take up inventory space and you can swap by the click of a skill? Personally that would be really cool because in FL I'm a fan of a spear and bow, but there is never the room, and when I swap out I drop one weapon, not fun to have to stop the fight to pick it up of have some J.A steal them.

Let me see... uh... not sure what all I could add to this.

I do like the idea of an apocalyptic kind of thing. That's really intriguing. I was thinking that you make the map set DURING an apocalypse instead of after it, though. Such as heaving heavy rain and wind type effects, and having random spots on the map look to be hit by boulders or meteors (and possibly some strong instrumental music if you like). Have some places "closed off" (but still accessible to characters) for drama and effect.

If you're going to add items, I'd like to ask you do a bit of beta testing to ensure that they don't make characters too op, or if they are really powerful, make them hard to get.

Personally, and just for a bit of "different" (if that makes sense), let's have the post apocalyptic setting be somewhere like several islands (large and small) in an area. I say this for the sole reason that I think the European setting is just a bit overdone as a setting for things to happen.

(Of course, these are just my opinions and if you guys have any quarrels with them, feel free to speak up. Being Chieftain obviously does not make my word law.)

Well i think im gonna go with a more ddark ages apocalyptic time deal. Sure there arent a whole lot of space and futuristic maps on WC3, but then again, this isnt starcraft lol. Its far easier for me to work with WC3 and WC3 WE. I will work on almost every class you guys have mentioned, and i will definately be throwing out BETA testing exclusive to our clan only! Since im still having troubles with my laptop and its Blue Screen of Death issue, the map will be put on hold for now, but as soon as its fixed, i will be getting straight to work on it, and i will be actively posting the progress of it from the time i start development to the first BETA release.

Of course, and if you ever do catch me on Warcraft, ask me to beta test for you and I will most likely do it

Laptop is still down with the BSOD. Trying to get it taken care of. I've begun to ask Microsoft for help since nothing seems to be working for me

My laptop is now fixed! I will be able to start working on the map and 4 other projects i have to do. This map is still able to be given ideas and what not until i say it is closed. PLEASE post your ideas and whatnot. I will also be doing special key give aways for a few lucky Beta testers whenever the map comes around to its major testing days. The benefits of being a beta tester: You will have a specialized item or character in game based upon your certain desires, and only you will have access to it! You will be given a special code that will unlock the item/character. Eligibility on becoming a Beta tester is still being debated, so please stay active in the clan and be a positive happy force! Well, My idea would be druid for a new class. I am personally getting tired of in every medieval RP the same classes, 3mages, thief, slayer, archer, knight, and so on. So I would like to add a class that will be based across intelligence(druid form), agility(cat), or strength(bear). If I become a beta tester I would like this to be my own personal character but that's OK if I'm not. Weapons for this character if he is public would look like the claws of attack +X. In the founding of durotar one of the shamans gives you a special weapon and the claws of attack is actually the picture they use for it, but the item does a lot more then claws of attack. As for a name, I am still thinking.

For the tree it could be something like this (if its public, if not ignore the lesser class then.)

Lesser(still working on name) --> Druid (Druid would have 1 spell book containing 3 spell books, cat form, bear form, druid form. I can give you skill ideas upon request.

Or, druid would lead into 3 focused sections, cat form would be agility, dealing with DPS and stealth. Druid would be the supporter, dealing with regeneration, possibly auras and moonkin form (consult WOW on that one). Bear would be a DPS tank or just a tank, dealing with taking damage, and having skills such as taunt.

(Meaning druid would be leading into three optional classes afterwards.)

If you want I can have an entire skill tree up for both if you want, and you can tweak/remove/add spells as you wish.

Well, ive taking into great consideration what everyone has said. Its all really cool actually lol. Im just currently terraining the map, creating the actual physical part of the map that you, the heroes, will be running around on. I have not yet started on making any special characters yet, so I am still taking in any other ideas you all still or may have.

Northern mountain with some sort of temple, doesn't need a purpose but would be cool for somebodies RP.. or you can sell it for a house. A massive cool house

Few ideas:

Area to act like a tower(Balcony)
2-4 bedrooms
Really cool garden place.
Higher and lower levels, like part of the house goes on an up ramp and some of it goes on a down ramp. I don't like how there are teleports like stairs in certain games... IDK why.

Actually I would kinda agree with armed's idea, except, for a certain perk, or rather two perks, I think it would make the game more interesting

How about for realism sake, if vision of another player is turned on, then after about, oh, twenty minutes or so, that vision is automatically turned off, as to keep realism going
(Unless of course, its near the end of the game and well everyones so rigged that it doesn't matter)

And, to keep it even more interesting, if having the stairs and top of the roof on the building to keep people from being able to look in completely, that way it seems like a house, and then fades when you enter it

I understand the last one is hard to put into games, but if that would be possible, it would make it a lot more interesting I would think

What i meant by that is like a hallways, in then has two ramps, one going up and one going down into different areas, I like that much better then a way gate that says "Stairs" as its name. Oh and if you're speaking about layering a map, its impossible. One map with several areas and the mini map zooms to that one area, not the whole map that has several sections. That way you think you're looking at the whole map and its layered, but its actually not, your going from area of a map to area of a map and its all an illusion. Not a clue how to do that though, but it was done in Cruiser Command, so you might be able to find the command in there.

Those are all interesting ideas, ill have to see what all i can fit into my map and keep everything balanced and working just fine without bugging or glitching out. BUT I have returned from working at Kohl's on Tax Free Weekend, which we were 300% busier....so i had no free time what so ever and worked a 10 hour shift yesterday....im exhausted lol, bt ill resume work on the map asap.
